The Liberal/PQ government-in-rotation strikes again… I’ll let the Gazette take it from here (Original story: Quebec underestimated 2012-2013 deficit by $626 million, auditor general says):

Quebec’s Auditor General Michel Samson found Marceau’s update respects Canadian accounting standards “with one exception.” Quebec accounts for the subsidies it grants as they are paid out, not charging the full amount up front.

That means the 2012-2013 deficit should be $3.1 billion. But the Parti Québécois government was following the same accounting practice as the previous Liberal government, which underestimated its 2011-2012 deficit by $485 million.

The Liberals and PQ only differ on an antiquated debate that has already been resolved… twice. We need change. It’s time for the CAQ.
